CAPA Diesel Tuner 'CR' - Common Rail Tuning
Common Rail was developed for automotive use by Fiat and Bosch in the mid 1990's and has proven to be the system for now and the future because of it’s abaility to inject fuel at any time. CAPA's Common Rail Diesel Tuners are supplied with one channel wiring looms (real time rail pressure adjustment) or 2 channel wiring looms (real time rail & turbo pressure adjustment). 2 channel solutions are often chosen for emission reasons.
A high pressure fuel pump is powered by the engine and provides a constant pressure (up to 2000 bar) in the fuel rail. This rail is connected via little tubes to the injectors. The opening and closing of each injector is regulated by an electronical valve and can be opened and closed at any time. Because of this freedom of injection timing, it is possible to inject a small amount of diesel just before the main injection event to reduce vibration and explosiveness, or have different injection timing for cold starts, bad fuel etc.
Common Rail tuning system explained:
With our 'CR' Diesel Tuner the injection pressure is increased. The 'CR' Tuner features a high speed processor, and is able to calculate the engine load and modify the injection pressure in real time. Our software works with curve mapping and is therefore able to calculate the maximum possible pressure. Our pressure protector ensures that the maximum rail pressure does not exeed a safety point. A watchdog watches over the process 800 times every second. A 30 % power increase is possible without increasing the turbo pressure. Installation time of our 'CR' Diesel Tuner has been reduced to a minimum, with no expensive tools or training required. This tuning system connects “in line” with the existing wiring loom of your car. As soon as the tuning is installed, there is a connection between the ECU and our diesel tuner.
The production of this type of fuel system has been integrated in every car under euro regulations because of it’s capacity to fullfill the euro emission regulations. The demand for these type of tuning will increase over the next years.
The CAPA Diesel Tuner 'CR':
Our CR Diesel Tuner is digital and is supplied to automotive workshops and car dealerships around the world. Our programmer enables the installer to change power and torque curves to suit the customers requirements.
CAPA Diesel Tuner 'PD' - Pumpe Duse (Pump Nozzle) Tuning
Pumpe duse tuning is common on VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Ford.
A pumpe duse unit is a fuel pump, combined with a vaporisation duse and a magnetic valve regulation. These parts are integrated into the pumpe duse unit. Each cylinder contains one pumpe duse unit.
Just like a rotating fuel pump (eg VP-37, VP-44) with injectors the pumpe duse system operates the following tasks; generating the high pressure up to 2050 bars and dosing the exact quantity of fuel. The pumpe duse system has the following benefits.
- Less carbon accumulation on the nozzle tips
- Applicable up to Euro 4 standards
- Lower fuel consumption
- High power output.
These benefits are achieved by the exact and high pressure (2050 bar) injection, a precious regulation of pre-, main– and last injection.
Pumpe duse tuning explained:
Via our digital pumpe duse tuning system, each injector is enable to inject up to 45 % longer via PWM (pulse width modulation). Every injection cycle is calculated seperately. Tuning a pumpe duse system with a diesel particle filter often generates problems because there is too few rest-oxygen. When there is a lack of oxygen, the engine cannot “clean” the diesel particle filter, with all consequences for the engine. This is one of the many reasons why we in some cases not perform to the max and why we stay under certain safety levels of power and torque.
Our 'PD' Diesel Tuner changes in real time, the actual injection timing via pwm (pulse width modification) signaling. The tuning calculates every injection time, modifies this signal via pwm and sends it back to the pump duese injector. 800 times per second a watchdog watches over the process. Up to 30% of additional power is possible without increasing the turbo pressure. Installation time of our 'PD' diesel tuner has been reduced to a minimum, with no expensive tools or training required. This tuning system connects “in line” with the existing wiring loom of your car. As soon as the tuning is installed, there is a connection between the ECU and our diesel tuner.
The production of this type of pump duese engine however was stopped in 2008 and exchanged to Common Rail, because pump duese engines could no longer fullfill the euro emission regulations. The demand for these type of tuning will decrease over the next years.
The CAPA Diesel Tuner 'PD':
Our CR Diesel Tuner is digital and is supplied to automotive workshops and car dealerships around the world. Our programmer enables the installer to change power and torque curves to suit the customers requirements.
CAPA Diesel Tuner 'VP-37' - VP-37 Pump Tuning:
With this type of tuning we use the original OEM connectors, installed between the fuel pump and the ECU. Power increases are gained by changing the signals in a back loop between the ECU and Fuel Pump. An increase of up to 50 Bhp is possible without increasing turbo pressure.
Installation time of our VP-37 powerpack is reduced to a minimum, with no expensive tools or training required. This tuning system connects “in line” with the existing wiring loom of your car. As soon as the tuning is installed, there is a connection between the ECU and our diesel tuner.
VP-37 System Explained:
Tuning-system used for the power tuning of all vehicles, equipped with a BP-37 fuel pump, such as; Pre 2000 VAG, BMW, Ford and Pre 2002 Mitsubishi.
The VP-37 was replaced in 2000 to 2002 by the VP-44 pump, due to emerging euro emission laws. With a VP-37 fuel pump, the ECU is only capable of injecting one time each piston stroke.
The CAPA Diesel Tuner 'VP-37':
Our VP-37 tuning is an analog tuning system and can only be changed by adjusting three potentiometres. Our vehicle setting list has pre-determined values, and tuners include installation loom, tuning module and instruction manual.
CAPA Diesel Tuner 'VP-44' - VP-44 Pump Tuning:
Our VP-44 Diesel Tuner changes injection timing via pwm (pulse width modification) signaling in real time. The tuner calculates every injection time, modifies this signal via pwm and sends it back to the pump. A watchdog watches over this process 800 times every second. An increase of up to 42 bhp is possible without increasing the turbo pressure.
VP-44 System Explained:
This tuner is suitable for cars fitted with a VP-44 fuel pump, e.g. BMW (136pk), Audi 2.5 TDI, Opel Di/DTi/ DTH, Saab Turbo Diesel and Ford.
The VP-44 fuel pump allows the manufacturer to inject with a pressure up to 1.250 bar. The VP-44 is the successor to the VP-37 pump. The common rail fuel system “pushed” the VP-44 out of the market. Installation time of our VP-44 powerpack is reduced to a minimum, with no expensive tools or training required. This tuning system is installed “in line” with the existing wiring loom of your car. As soon as the tuner is installed, there is a connection between the ECU and our diesel tuner.
This type of fuel system is no langer produced because it could not meet the requirements of modern emission regulations. You will only find these type of fuel systems in older cars or motorhomes.
The CAPA Diesel Tuner 'VP-44':
Our CR Diesel Tuner is digital and is supplied to automotive workshops and car dealerships around the world. Our programmer enables the installer to change power and torque curves to the customers requirements.
