Overview
The next generation flash tuning device, now available from CAPA Performance. Includes the same features as the Ford Flash 2, with a larger backlit screen and improved data logging.
CAPA’s X3 Power Flashallows you to replace the factory program of your AU - FG Falcon and Territory with one of 3 custom programs. The factory program is stored on the X3 so the vehicle can be put back to standard at any time. There is no limit to the amount of times you can switch between performance and factory tunes. X3 also features user adjustability of custom programs, in built datalogging and the ability to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes.

CAPA’s X3 is designed for Custom Tuning applications and for use with our Advantage 3.0 Custom Tuning Software by our network of CAPA dealers. This tool offers our network of Certified Dealers a reliable and quick flash tool for your Ford Custom Tuning requirements. Tool stores up to 3 Custom Tune files while storing the factory tune.

The X3 Features Built-In Data Logging
The X3 flash tool features Live High Speed Data Logging built in. Now you can data log your all of your vehicles PCM parameters and view them on your Windows based computer using SCT's Live Link Software. The Live Link software package as available FREE to all SCT customers in the Downloads section of our website.
Once the X3 has been used to program a vehicle, it will be VIN locked to that particular vehicle until the programming has been returned to the stock setting.
The X3 can store up to 3 custom programs at any one time, loading to and from the flash tuner box can be done an infinite amount of times.
The X3 can be changed over to a new vehicle, it must be cleared using software available from CAPA. This process can only be performed 5 times. Then it must go back to SCT / USA for a Reset.
Software will be available to download original program from vehicle processor if code has not already been made public. This software must be requested.
General software files generated by CAPA will become available to all dealers upon request.
CAPA Tune Files are also available as part of the X3 for retail sale. This retail product is also available to dealers.

The X3 is so easy to
use, a few simple steps is all it takes to load a new program into a
vehicle.
1. Plug the flash tuner into the diagnostics port of your car (under the fuse panel). Leave the ignition key in the OFF position.

2. To navigate through the device main menus and sub-menus use the; arrows, cancel and select keys.

3. select the Program Vehicle main menu option to begin. Once you select the main menu option, the Program Vehicle sub-menu will appear on the screen.

4. When the Program Vehicle submenu appears, use the arrow up & down keys to navigate to the menu option you want. The Install Tune option will be the default menu option. To program a tune file, press the select key and you will enter the Install Tune sub-menu. |

5. The pre-loaded tune option is the default menu option. Press the select key and you will be prompted to turn the key ON, which will start the tuning process. |
|
6. Once tuning is complete, turn the key to the off position and remove the
OBD-II connector. Turn the key to on and verify that the car starts. You will be prompted to turn the ignition key on and off multiple times as part of the tuning process. DO NOT unplug the OBD-II cable at any point during this process. |
